In 2006, CAM initiated its first annual Medical Mission Experience. Doctors, nurses, medical personnel, and students see patients at CAM project sites that serve thousands of people living in gross poverty at the Guatemala City garbage dump. The Medical Team will:
Provide medical attention to children ages 3 months - 17 years
- Attend to the medical needs of adults living
in poor communities
- Collaborate with community leaders to pro-
vide medical care to impoverished families living at the garbage dump
- Educate local community in the prevention
of common illnesses
- Work with local doctors to provide follow-up
care for patients
